SmartSurfACE – innovative "no-touch" technology

SmartSurfACE is a "no-touch" technology, i.e. it works without touching the eye, without cutting or creating a vacuum.

It is the newest and most effective variety of the Trans-PRK method. The procedure allows removal of the epithelium and vision correction to be carried out simultaneously and entirely by the laser in a single step, without contact of the eye to any surgical instrument. The innovative method SmartSurfACE combines Trans-PRK with the revolutionary SmartPulse, to achieve an impressively smooth surface of the cornea and speed up the recovery process, so immediately after the procedure patients can see noticeably better than with conventional surface methods.

AFTER THE PROCEDURE:

After the procedure will receive soft contact lenses that you should wear for about 5-6 days. We will give you instructions how to use the drops, as you will need them for a few months. In addition, you are required to wear sunglasses. It is not advisable to drive after laser correction

LASEK

LASEK method, like SmartSurfACE is another surface treatment, ie a flap is not made in the epithelium as it is with LASIK.

In LASEK the outermost layer of the cornea - the epithelium is just pushed to one side with the use of an alcoholic solution and special microsurgical instrument, after which with the excimer laser pulses reshape and remodel the cornea. After the laser treatment, epithelium is carefully moved back to place and a special soft contact lens is placed . Within 4-5 days the epithelium heals.

Epi-LASEK

Epi-LASEK method differs from the LASEK method in the manner in which the epithelium pushed aside.
